All over again. In 1973 I went to work for a small fuel oil company, helping make sure Seniors had enough heating oil. Remember the ODD and EVEN license plate lines? Today the gas prices are so high. Hillary wants to give people a break this summer. Goooooood idea. Some say it is not long term. In boxing, the fabled one-two punch is effective. Why not a short term help and a long term program? For summer, an example of real HOPE is a good thing. ONE_TWO punch is good people strategy! March 22, 2008 WHY UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE? Example A- I received a telephone call today. One of my very good College friends drove himself to the Hospital during the night. He thought he was having a heart attack. When he arrived at the hospital he started through the Hospitlal door only to be stopped. He was not allowed in. There was an Anbulance there and he was made to get in it upon which they drove twenty feet and then got him back out and let him enter. Yep, he was having a heart attack and because more time went by it went further and he owed an additional $1,800.00. My friend tells things as it is so THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH THIS. Time to take the healthcare service and make it responsible and fair. March 16, 2008 WE NEED UNIVERAL HEALTHCARE! Last weeks reminder: Karen fell at school. The school insisted she go to a clinic and get checked. It would be under workman's comp. Sitting there waiting for me, a nurse came and asked me to go to where Karen was. She then closed the door and proceeded to tell us that they were not sure if it was going to qualify or not so they would not treat Karen. Not one, but two doctors came in and insisted we pay up front and then they would see about workman's comp. Karen had been on school healthcare when teaching a home room class. When the schools wanted her to be a roving specialist in Art, Reading, and testing. She agreed. Little diD we know that the reward for using her higher talent would be that she was taken off the school healthcare plan. So, here we sat with no healthcare, doctors refusing to advise treatment even though the school sent Karen: YOU GET MY POINT! No way did we stay to deal with those two by the way. YES, WE NEED UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE. HILLARY IS RIGHT. SHE KNOWS THAT OTHERWISE, EACH CASE IS SUBJECT TO THE WHIMS OF THAT PARTICULAR NURSE, DOCTOR, AND CLINIC. February 25, 2008 I received a call last night from a Dinner Train operator wanting to set up a train car B&B. The good news is that these kind of EXPERIENCE based ideas can work and bring economic advantage to a community. Based around preserving history makes this idea an even better idea. There are lots of ideas to boost the economy. Keep ideas coming! February 17, 2008 The Presidential race has come to Ohio. Voting is on March 4, 2008. Voters of Ohio will make a difference this year. IT IS AN EXCITING TIME TO VOTE. January 22, 2008 Hillary Clinto came to Salinas today to receive the endorsement of the UNITED FARM WORKERS. Read on! The day of my High School graduation on a Sunday, 1966 I packed up my things, moved out of the dorm at Monterey Bay Academy and headed for a University. Driving south, we had to go through Salinas. I will never forget seeing CEASAR CHAVEZ standing on a lettuce wagon surrounded by a throng of people. And here today was a lady running for President receiving the Farm Workers support. America is an amazing country. After Hillary spoke, while people were around her, I went to the media and gave them my take. I talked to the New York Sun, New York Times, L. A. Times, CNN, Newsweek, ABC, San Jose Mercury News, foreign press and more. Someone asked me what I got out of seeing Hillary. I do not know for I went to help her. My effort was the media for this endorsement was Huge from the standpoint of history. Having had a White House Press Pass those years ago sure came to use for me as all media talked with me. One more thing: while I was waiting for the rally to start several people behind we talking about "those IDIOT Republican candidates. I stopped them and we discussed each one and the reality is that in both Parties the main candidates all are accomplished, talented, and well deserving of respect. We have an amazing Country, don't you think? January 09, 2008- The day after the New Hampshire primary. What gives? Debate on what CHANGE is! My thought is: "To experience change, we must bring change through experience". January 3, 2008- How times change. When bobcarr.org went up, the designer Dawn Boldt was not married and now she has a husband and a wonderful baby. The next generation is here. Today is Iowa caucus day and votes will cast votes for our next President. It matters! Little ones are on earth and their future is tied into this exercise. I have watched the candidates with interest and I am amazed how many of them let their advisers think that attacking others in the race helps their candidate. Not so. I have wrote before that we would be well served if Hillary Clinton wins the race. She has proven she is not afraid to try to do something new. Other candidates can take a lesson. In the end, my belief is there are many good people running and that certainly shows others in this world how trully remarkable America is. November 22, 2007 HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO EACH OF YOU! There is so much to be for. My latest IS that my brother Budd has surfaced. Never living with each other, he now is a former Marine working at a Veterans Hospital. To Budd, and all the other Veterans; it seems that Thanksgiving Day is a good time to say THANKS! October 28, 2007. Today I was invited over to a potluck and a gathering of several families. Conversation turned to politics. My views on health care and the Presidential Election were asked. What struck me was how everyone had the concerns but, because of the information they each had received, their views varied. One of the greatest reasons for running for office is that it can give a person who is a candidate a "bully pulpit" from which they can reach people. It is a great responsibility for this same candidate to campaign with talk of solutions. Out of solutions discussed will come plans of action that will lead policy in ways that work. The campaigning "against" serves no long term purpose towards solution. My suggestion today is to vote for candidates who talk solution. October 1, 2007 Health care for all. Seems to me that a healthy nation is a stronger nation. Educational effort must go along with health care so that people learn to be healthy for a longer and fuller life. AND so that we can afford health care for all. To support abusers of their lifestyle adds cost. There will never be a perfect plan BUT any plan will be better if we in step with care teach good heathy living. SEPTEMBER 05, 2007 As you may know, Karen and I have spent day after day visiting 95 year young Mom in her "home" in a Geriactic Center. The Center has done wonders with Mom. However, the facility, because of money needs, mixes the old with the frail and the sick. It is a way of life that is full of good care yet surrounded by sad existing for many. Teddy is an 88 year old former Korean War soldier. An amazing fellow who is highly decorated. I have met his family and they tell this: Teddy went into the milatary from the State of West Virginia. At an early age, his mother taught hiom to shoot a weapon. As a greenie in the military he requested to be a "Sharpshooter". As the family tells it, he and the rest of the new recruits were taken to a shooting range to be "tested". They were told to shoot at the bottles lined up several hundred yards away. None were expected to hit them. Teddy asked that HIS BOTTLE BE LAID DOWN ON IT'S SIDE WITH THE NECK FACING HIM. THIS GOT EVERYONES ATTENTION. WHEN HE SHOT THE BACK OUT OF THE BOTTLE WITHOUT NICKING THE BOTTLE NECK TEDDY WAS IMMEDIATELY A LEGEND. Everytime we talk now, Teddy always says with a twinkle "Bob, I never miss". Highly decorated as a sharpshooter and yet at the Geriactic Center it is Teddy who wakes up the caged Birds in the morning and covers them in the evening. One of America's finest Teddy has a sweet, sweet spirit. Teddy is a blessing to all who are around him. Thank you Teddy for your service during war time and your service during your time at the center. Still Giving. One more thing; Teddy is in the Center being treated. Treated because it was during Korea that he was machine gunned in both legs. Once in a while the old wounds act up. Teddy is going back home soon. His legs are doing better. He sits at the dinner table with Mom and he will be missed. However, we know that where ever Teddy is he brings his sweet spirit to those around him. Thank you Soldier for "never missing". August 17, 2007- For all who follow politics; campaigning AGAINST the other candidate is an "unskilled" political tactic. Unskilled, by not knowing how to win by being positive about ones self. Negative campaigning reflects on how the candidate would govern. I have always been known as against negative campaigning. Some say negative campaigning works. ONLY, if the other candidate let's it work. When people are negative that, they also will serve if elected with less than full time thought to their constituants. It just goes hand in hand almost everytime. Presidential Candidates: Talk about you! July 16, 2007- I received a call from a friend who told me about Cecillia Flannigan and Helga Doud. Both ladies have passed their 100th. year. Both are vibrant. Mrs. Flannigan is a retired teacher (taught my "real mother") and Mrs. Doud is still running her apartment rental business. Good for them. As more people live longer there are more reasons for us to plan for the future and for the future of the next generations. Quite a challenge and quite a joy to have a longer life. June 24, 2007 Last night Karen and I stood next to a tree that was over 500 years old, so people say. We were talking to a lady who was emphasizing the people should only have heathcare who can pay for it out of their earnings. Priced a dentist lately, I asked? As the tree is living to a very old age, people are living longer as well. Thus, perhaps we need to be creative to keep up, including healthcare coverage. Changing how we do healthcare is not a bad thing, but a good thing. JUNE 04, 2007 Re: New Hampshire Presidential Debate over the weekend. Good candidates acting childish over who has leadership, don't you think? Standing aside listening was Hillary Clinton. Senator Clinton took on HEALTH CARE and what to do about fixing it, right out of the box when her husband was elected President. I will always appreciate her willingness to stay with the Health Care effort through all the guff. I'd be delighted to see her elected President and I believe the Country will be well served. May 07, 2007 On National Public Radio today it was stated that Ford Motor Company was closing a auto plant out side of Cleveland, Ohio with a loss of 1,200 jobs. Wow! Again, we need as comunities and counties, learning to do a 1001 little things" of economic engines. Doing so will infuse the region with jobs and money AND should one of the "1001 no longer operate, there will not be such a HUGE loss all at once. And again, for the comunities where a Ford Plant or other large employer goes out of business I WOULD AGAIN URGE COMPANIES TO HIRE JUST ONE and together the out-of-work people can again be employed and the community can continue to thrive. Why hire one more? Economically supportive but most of all HIRING PROVEN TALENT. Always a WIN-WIN! April 18, 2007 Karen and I have been visiting her 95 year young Mom almost everyday at a geriactic center. And, a couple of weeks ago I visited a high school friend at a geriactic center where he is a physical therapist AND the facility where many famous people have their Mom or Dad. Both are operated much the same. What we can say; is that our facility has done wonders with Mom. Caring, skilled workers who just have a touch. As a baby boomer decisions about the elderly loved-one is tuff. There is a time when Mom or Dad no longer can be on there own. What to do? Well, putting them with people of caring skill and in a setting where there are other patients of their age. It just seems to restimulate these folks. Anyone reading this who is facing the decisions are welcome to call us about our experience at 1(800) 987-8810 APRIL 02, 2007 As you read my column, you will noticed that I am trully in awe of the many talented people I continue to meet. Yesterday; I was invited to participate with museum tour directors in one of the tours they were giving. As I chatted with some of the guest; there was a Professor of International studies; on his way, on loan to Stanford University. Also, a team of ABC camera people; taking time to sitesee. My observation is that truly talented people have a wide interest level. They are so timulating to be around. AND, from them as they learn, we learn. Just great! March 21, 2007 THREE NOTES OF WORTH: Last night at a State Parks instruction session; the fellow sitting next to me and I realized that we were both wearing MIA/POW bracelets. Nothing more needed to be said. Saturday evening Karen and I went to a conceret where Aunt Velma's (see her story below) grand daughters were performing. Sitting behind us was a 95 year yound man named Anthony Quaglia. Mr. Quaglia was the ARTIST allowed to paint copies "OF THE MASTERS" in Washington, D. C. People all around us are talented. I listend on NPR to Al Gore testifying before Congress today. Al Gore has passion for his causes. Passion brouht out through thourough thought and research. His new web is Al Core.com March 16, 2007 ALZHEIMERS: AUNT VELMA- Aunt Velma was found on Wednesday. She was nine miles from home and a half mile from the road. Aunt Velma had been missing for 175 days. She had Alheimers and somehow slipped out the door of her home and went for a walk. There was a large search over many days yet, in the thick woods at nine miles; she was not located until lumbermen were marking trees. Sad say for us. Aunt Velma was one of Mom and Dad Carr'sd kids. She and Uncle Herb took a turn at raising me. My adopted family. I am for all the RESEARCH we can do to save others from this desease and to SAVE other families from such awful days. MARCH 13, 2007 APOLLO 11-SPACE SHUTTLE AND: I have been taking classes in State Park system operations. All states great resource. A couple of weeks ago we LEFT CLASS AT 7:02 p.m. to see the space shuttle go over head. Pride. How times have changed. Last night in class Karen and I sat with a Mom and her daughter who were from 'Moscow'". We now fly with Russians and others from around the world. I remember seeing the "spucnic" the first night. I remember sitting on a hill with a radio trying to pickup a far radio signal to hear our first launch of the Vangard rocket and sattelite. Only, to hear it explode on the pad. We all remeber where we were the night Armstrong landed on the moon. Later, the President through a celebration for the Apollo 11 crew at the Century Plaza Hotel. I was there. I saw Mike Wallace, Barbara Walters, Dan Rather, Herb Kaplo, Bob Pierpoint, Allan sheperd, and of course the Astronauts, and the President AND Hubert Humphrey. What a night. BUT what I remember most was my arrival. I parked my 51 Chevy a distance and walked. As I came over the hill the sound I heard was incredable. The sound of tens of thousands of war protesters chanting with their voices reverbarating off the side of the concaved hotel. And the Sound of Helicopters over the hotel. TIMES HAVE CHANGED. AND FOR THE GOOD. As I watched Karen talk to those two ladys from Moscoe last night for many, many minutes; I thought of earlier yesterday. I met a man in a parkinglot. As we were talking he gave me his card. Will Vandeneynde. Photo Developing Specialist. Yes, when you see the pictures of Armstrong stepping on the moon it was Will Vandeneynde who finished the final developing that we all see. Our world is a email away AND I submit our world is better today! Let us each do our part to help our neighbor. Our neighbor is anyone in the world. They are only an email or cell phone away. MARCH 06, 2007 MY UNCLE HERB POLK. Let me tell you about him. When I was nine months old; I went into foster care. Mom and Dad Carr raised over 50 of us foster kids. Uncle Herb and Aunt Velma lived across the woods and the creek with their kids. They too, helped with all the foster kids Mom and Dad had. Over the years I would be in and out of the Carr family life. Always, when I would see Uncle Herb he was involved in some helping hand project. Karen and I went to a wedding of Uncle Herb's grandson this weekend. Uncle Herb was there along with his daughter Julie (Nurse) and his son Ralph (Aircraft pilot and mechanac). We picked right back up as family. What is astounding is this: Uncle Herb is now 80 something. Uncle Herb Polk had to fly back out first thing yesterday morning because today he would be in Arkansas teaching College and High school kids gardening agriculture. He would not think to miss that class NOR would he think of taking any pay. He is my Uncle Herb, MY HERO! FEBRUARY 21, 2007 I just received a nice email about my name being tied in to the efforts of a carbarn (trolley) museum effort. It is true, I have had conversations, and that I took a half day and spent it with a East Liverpool City Council person hearing and learning about the carbarn museum concept they have. Much like my action with the Homer Laughlin Mansion; I am willing to asses a preservation project and make recommendations. It is something I am able to do. Just yesterday a Forrestry Company called me about a three building Victorian Home complex on their property that is now under (it's future) discussion. It is a spectacular location and I gave my recomendations. Glad to do it. THE KEY IS: those who ask my thoughts must then move forward IN ACTION on the project of their interest. If they do, and follow good advice from many years of experience, their efforts will be successful. They must be leaders. I always trust that they will. February 08, 2007- WHO IS FAMILY? TWO PHONE CALLS: One call was last night and one early this morning. Last night my 'REAL" sister Denney, the increadable Manhattan Artist, called to say it is confirmed that she has MS. During our growing years we shuttled between foster homes; sometimes together sometimes crossing paths. Still, we have been able to remain Family. Her attitude last night was? Working late on a big art project. That is my sister. UNCLE CHUCK called me this morning very early. He called to say he was going in for a heart operation at any moment. And, indeed, the aides came to take him while we talked. Uncle Chuck is one of Mom and Dad Carr "REAL" kids. Over the years he and Aunt Easter would help raise me. Uncle Chuck is the one who taught me "Service to Others" To call me today, moments before his operation, was a comfort to him I trust. We have a love that is there, no matter how we are related (not related), and his including me in his journey is a testiment to how we as people can be important to someone. Imortant with "no strings attached". I have always had a saying the "Everyone Is Imortant to Someone". It is true! In each of our everyday lives, I hope we know that are actions effect others. And thus, we do that which is kind and of service. That is how my UNCLE CHUCK" does it. He is a 'BIG WHY' I campaigned when I was young to take the "CARR" name. Such a symbol of "Service to others". Uncle Chuck is indeed one of my Heros. January 29, 2007 Our Buck O'Neil. Buck O'Neil was and is an American Treasure. Known for his Great understanding about the Game of Baseball and the Politic's of America's Passtime. Buck O'Neil was an Ambassador for the Game and for the "love of People"; no matter their background. On the first Saturday of the New Year, a "little" puppy arrived at our door. 22 pounds already, this Great Perinees was dropped off to us by Karen's Highschool roomate. We soon visited the Vet and they informed us that our puppy needed a name. By this time, we had learned of his SWEET SPIRIT. So, Buck O'Neil was named for my Hero. Since then he has visited Mom and her mates in the Geriactic Center, and has been the subject of Karen's students art paintings. A growing boy, he is so calm, personable, and with Sweet Spirit. Buck O'Neil; your Name and legacy is told everyday. Thank you, my hero! JANUARY 22, 2007 How to be able to help a Community? My experience in Economic Development goes clear back to College and then to hard core inner-city work, Federal Government, and many Communities over the last 35 years. Lots of experience BUT Politicians have to get out of the way and let people like me help. My time was spent working for everyone. For Politicians it is so often "why did you not work just for "Our Party"? that keeps them from using real experienced folks. Community Service trumps Party Service. Yes, Party affiliation is important and that affiliation is a "Billboard" for a persons' core phylosophy. However, to help people most effectively is to operate with "No Strings Attached". Party leaders need to understand that is the effective way AND that does not mean a person is not a "Loyal" Party member. I am able to help in ways others cannot. And believe me our Communities, after all these years of Politicians, still needs real help. Now more than ever. I know, for as a "greass roots" person; I have been out and about and see the needs. They are Legion still. December 27, 2006 CHRISTMAS and ACT! I received a telephone call on christmas from my friend Warren Dale. He, as well as Monte and Myself started a hard-core inner-city day program while in college. After graduation we set up the ACT House which served five East LA Cities in many ways. My position was that of Run-Away kids program Director. I still have the news scrapbook on the many amazing things we did. Out of the ACT House, came my learned ability to get local businesses to "hire just one". In our case, our runaways. This will work throughout our Counties if only an opportunity for State Senators and others were able to understand how and why it works. I'd Like to share with all of you because folks, one plus one equals more jobs AND the need is so great!! December 21, 2006- EVERYIONE IS IMPORTANT TO SOMEONE! I just drove past a lady as she was hanging a Christmas Wreath on her front door. Christmas is coming!!! I remember a particular Christmas Eve. I was operating a Soup Kitchen in a place called "the Worst Town in America" The kitchen was in a City block that had two Hotels for the poorest of the poor and many empty store fronts. I was living in room 201 for some days to be right on the spot to help folks. Around 11:30 Christmas eve I went outside as it was really snowing. I stood in the vacant lot across the street as the big snow flakes came floodering down. The lights of the old hotel were ablaze, the tree had some of it's lights working, and then, the sound of a train whistle began to be heard. The engineer began blowing it with highs and lows and he continued mile after mile. As I stood there listening and watching the beautiful flakes cover up the old, I heard singing coming down the street. Christmas songs of a sort. It was Hazel, 87 years young former New York model, and Mr. Anderson, 40 something man from somewhere. Those two were pals and best friends. Singing loud and louder, Mr. Anderson watched over Hazel with great effection and had for months. We called them the odd couple and yet their dedicated friendship meant so much to the rest of us. EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT TO SOMEONE. Today, as I was dialing Terrsa Fedders' Office, new Minority Leader of the State Senate of Ohio; the Engineer of a freight train blew his whistle at me as the train passed along the river bank in front of our home. Long blast of saying "Hi!". I had to close my phone and waite. It was a good feeling because I felt as if I was important to that Engineer. Just a little thing but I sure feel warm inside this Christmas. Train Whistles now remind me that "EVERYONE IS IMPORTANT TO SOMEONE". Let us always take time to give others the time for a good word, a smile, and a "Hi!". Oh, and Karen and I also went to see the Wellsville City Fathers who have taken us in with wide open arms. To our surprise, it was their Christmas Party time. The Honorable Charlie Wilson walked in the door right after Karen and I. We spent some special moments together. Sir Charlie Wilson, ENJOY, e-n-j-o-y, EVERY MINUTE AS OUR CONGRESSMAN!!! DECEMBER 05, 2006 My first position that I held in Washington D.C was with the Executive Branch OFFICE of ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY (OEO). Thirty Five years later as I have been out and about in the River Counties of Ohio and the five Counties of the soon to be vacant State Senate seat; there is RIGHT NOW a tremendous need for Economic Opportunity. For those on the bottom rungs of the economy, it is no laughing matter. No POLITICAL GAMES WANTED, ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT NEEDED. In the past forty years starting in college, I have worked in Economic Development learning how to get businesses to add "just one more job" and communities to look at multiple ways to infuse opportunity into their community. IMPORTANT! It is also a Science to not only get people to listen to ideas but then to go into action. That is the hard job. all Politicians can talk the talk BUT only with long experiece of actually working on the front lines, can people carry these programs into action and success. Therefore EXPERIENCE and LEADERSHIP must be all inclusive in a persons ability to lead to action and follow through to a successful economic program. Creating Economic Opportunity (hope) can also help the Party have a Vibrant Voice to the public that can make the party a real instrument in the Economic Turn around in our Ohio. Karen and I will never forget the five kids we met in late April who were living in a home with no electricity and no running water. I lived in a foster home with an outside privy and to have kids today live that way, well I take it personal. We can develop Economic Opportunity by combining EXPERIENCE and LEADERSHIP of people with real experience and real leadership CREDENTIALS. Let's MAKE THE NEEDED REAJUSTMENTS, and GET IT RIGHT! November 20, 2006 We STILL have work to do. With all the talk of the great changes our Party will make; to really pass our legislation in Columbus we MUST win back a majority of the State Senate! Then, Senator C. J. Prentiss and her Senate Colleagues can design, promote AND PASS our important bills. Yes, we can win back the Senate with THE right coalition of state Senators, an inspiring message, and members who can speak through the media. The media IS the message. NOVEMBER 15, 2006 Great Hurrahs to Democratic Chairman Chris Redfern AND HIS INSPRING LEADERSHIP! Today, I was looking at the Ohio Democrat Party Official Sample Ballot and Chairman Redferns slogan: The Slogan is: "Turn Ohio Around" by EDUCATION & EMPLOYMENT. Education: Karen is a teacher had a great variety of teaching experiences. A reading Specialist and Art specialist, Karen has joined the two into a real effective method that accelerates reading learning! Employment: Once upon a time, I served on a committee that worked on the concept of an "Enterprise Zone" which became a first to become reality. Also, I have been a Director of a Chamber of Commerce and served on boards. As Democrats, Karen and I are thrilled at belonging to a Political Party that puts such empasis on Education and Employment. We will do what we can with the expertise we have to help "TURN OHIO AROUND". AGAIN, Well Done Charlie Wilson. Winning a Write-in AND defeating by a wide, wide, margin a sitting State Elected Official.! What an accomplishment. I am truly delighted and impressed. Glad to give you a hand any time my friend Charles Wilson. November 08, 2006 WELL DONE CHARLIE WILSON & HURRAY FOR THE 6TH. CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT! Affection: that is what so many people have for Charlie Wilson. We in this District are blessed to have someone who people realy care about to serve us. If you have not met Charlie, do so. I met Charlie and I came to admire his attitude of caring. Our District's future has just become brighter! Join me in helping Charlie Wilson help our District!!! November 06, 2006 think Progressohio.org (PROGRESSOHIO). TAKE A LOOK. MY FRIEND BRIAN ROTHENBERG IS DOING SOMETHING GREAT! I wrote about him last week which appears a couple of paragraphs down this column. First, on XM radio I heard a short ditty recorded some sixty years ago. It was about "THE HERE AND THE NOW". So very creative it pointed out that we all have past history and dreams for the future. Yet, it is the "here and the now" that is where we are today. Do the most we can today! Each of us who are interested in the election, are probably choosing our canidates for what they have shown to be able to do in their "here and the now". Last week I was priveledged to talk by telephone to BRIAN ROTHENBERG who until recently was the marketing guru for the OHIO DEMOCRATIC Party. He has recently started a not-for-profit organization to do community service projects in OHIO. Brian was an inspiration to me when at the Party headquarters. Now, he is my Hero for taking on his new effort. Brian is a Democrat yes, and also a person who is doing such service to others by doing "the here and the now". I, for one, am uplifted by his example. Thanks Brian. October 23, 2006. I ran into a classmate from High School the other day. We were members of the "Class of 66". One of our class slogans was, "We'd rather fight than switch, cause we are the class of '66'". (sticking to our beliefs) The other was "Forward ever, backward never!") (Looking to make a difference) Slogans that I believe fit into voting, even to today. October 16, 2006 We are all hearing about what we should do in international affairs. Yes, we have responsibilities. The world is very small these days and we touch all corners of the world. WHEN WE VOTE, this is important to remember. YET, even more important to our district, is choosing people to serve who also know that by adding a 1000 different opportunities to our agenda spreads out the opportunity for each of us to help LIFT our economy to new levels that benifit us all. To learn more abouth Bob Carr" button at the top of this page.August 14, 2006. Re: Commander Clifford J. Thompson, U. S. Navy retired AND MOM. We met the Commander because: As the summer goes by, Karen and I have learned about the "Senior Years". Karen's Mom is now in a Griatric Center. There are many loved ones who, for one reason or another have out lived their ability to be on their own. For us, to see the dedication of the care givers and the wonders that they have done to get Mom walking again. These people are all heros. It is amazing. Staying at the same facitlity is Commander Clifford J. Thompson. What a Great Fellow. In the Navy for years, he at one time had John Carey under him. The Commander says the "Carey was a good boy". Now, the Commander says, that when he calls those young ensigns on the phone for help in donations to city parks; military display equipment. These young ones are Commanders, Generals, and other advanced positions. Thank you commander for all you did for us and for those who now lead. It is great to know you. July 07, 2006 Karen and I sure do miss going around the District to talk with people, to dream, and to enjoy everyone's invectous laughter and stories. It is our hope and prayer that we may continue to play a role in finding ways for local folk to have an ever better day in each of our communities. Thanks, Bob Carr June 02, 2006 The 6th. District is made up of many communities with similar needs. Talk to each other and be creative. Share ideas and thoughts. Do not waite for long-term politicians to be the end all, as we know their ability level. We must be the ones who lead. We can do so much so let's get to it! May 22, 2006 The Thursday evening before the election I went to a candidates meet and great in Pomeroy. Trying to find the community center, we asked some kids for direction. It turned out that the center was just around the bend. Talking later to the centers cook, we learned that those five kids walk two miles an evening to get to the center. They had forgotten that this Thursday the candidates would be using the center. WHAT I CANNOT GET OUT OF MY MIND IS THAT THE COOK SAID THAT THESE CHILDREN NOT ONLY WALK TWO MILES EACH WAY, THEY LIVE IN A HOUSE THAT IS WITHOUT RUNNING WATER OR ELECTRICITY. HOW CAN THIS BE? I CANNOT GET THIS OUT OF MY THOUGHTS. Whoever serves in elective office needs to forget party leadership positions (CW and CB) and spend all effort on 12 county economic creation! My focus is that, together we must help bring ALL our District into modern times. May 12, 2006 Good people keep calling and I am glad we made folks aware that our Congressional District has hundreds of different needs and hundreds of opportunities. With this race, we want what is right and so we will keep that at the center. As to our 12 counties, we want them to prosper and what I emphasized can be a part of a blueprint that all of us can further. I am as close as the telephone. Yours truly, Bob CarrCampaigning is a lot of work. However, the needs of this District are so great.! . What makes this so extraordinary is (A) that the two Parties ANNOINTED candidates and SHUNNED the others. (B) They trashed each other to the point of revultion. and (C) the Centrist and Non_Declared want none of it. They want economic improvement. STAY TUNED! And thank you all! Bob Carr TO VOTE FOR BOB CARR ON MAY 2 PICK UP A DEMOCRAT BALLOT (HOW IT WORKS IN THE PRIMARY) AND YOU CAN DO SO AS A DEMOCRAT, REPUBLICAN OR NON-DECLARED. THE ECONOMY TRUMPS ALL PARTIES AND I KNOW HOW TO HELP IN SO MANY WAYS. I ASK YOU TO VOTE FOR BOB CARR! I will be very grateful. May 2, 2006- I'm hearing we can win! Wow! I had to make a quick trip to my High School 40 year class reunion. We are the Class of "66" and I was class President. While at the Pittsburg Airport ABC TV news out of Washington called and as we talked there were several announcements over the loud speakers to "Vote for Bob Carr for Congressman in Ohio". The reporter was astounded and I was so moved. Today I talked with FOX TV and I am off to do what I do. I will report. This race has gotten so much interest; if done right we can change the thinking on Politics and give voters new confidence in the process. What a good thing!April 28, 2006 I went to a candidate forum in Pomeroy last night. I was the only Congressional Candidate. The meeting was held in an old school converted to a evening TEEN Center. What a program with computers, games, food station, and lots of adult supervision. All these people who care add to the Congressional District's BRIGHT FUTURE! April 26, 2006- Yes, very busy! Grass roots, beat the street with my feet, and street smart politics. It is great to do. I was in a Store in Bellaire and I met a lady, who, upon receiving my bookmark said "do you think voting will do any good?" We talked and she asked if she could be "Aunt Betty Lou" and would I be nephew Bob as she was old enough to be my Aunt. You bet Aunt Betty Lou! Honored! She, Aunt Betty Lou, then informed me that at about age 80 she has gone back to school taking Social Work. FOLKS, ANOTHER REASON TO HAVE GREAT EXCITEMENT ABOUT OUR COMMUNITIES. I feel blessed to be a part.April 25, 2006 I was asked about the H-I-G-H price of gas. Ohio is one of two states whose minimum wage has been below the National average. Now, we have to deal with over three dollars a gallon prices for gas. No longer are the fuel prices staying within the inflation rate. They are WAY OUT OF WACK! Let's have a TIME-OUT period (start voluntary) on price increases AND concurently call for a "How do we make gas affordable?" SUMMIT. Run by former BUT NOT current Elected Officials such as Danforth and Carter for example, we bring everyone, yes (ALL AFFECTED PARTIES) into a big room and discuss the crisis with a theme of "for the community good"! Talk about it with the media present. With persuasion, there will be a funnel to a common concensus! OVER TIME, even oil companies WILL dislike "Peoples Wrath". Not good business. April 24, 2006 I was at Austintown High this morning and the kids hooted and hollered for me. Wow! AND I was followed around by one of the big TV Stations. No, I am not telling the other candidates how it's done. My White House Press Pass when in College has paid off. Good old hands-on education!!! APRIL 22, 2006 Since, Tuesday Karen and I have been in all 12 counties putting on more than 1000 miles and learning. We met with media, visited colleges and high schools, and attended a "League of Women Voters" forum on the environment. Need to know what people are saying. Several papers asked us to look at sitting projects. We checked out a gorgeous but boarded up Depot in Ironton, a Huge and beautiful empty Hall on Mainstreet in Pomeroy, and a Family Hardware Store in Belmont County, all will potentiAL but in need of some new ideas. There is so much Economic and Environmental need and I need to get to Congress where there is staff and ready information. It is interesting how different the Washington Press and the Local Press see this Campaign. But I know and again I ask that if you want someone who WORKS WITH EVERYBODY, come on over to the Democrat ballot as a Republican, non-declared or Democrat (how it works in the primary) and vote for Bob Carr. The ECONOMY NEEDS trumps any party to get things down. And too, we can by voting for Bob Carr, save the integrity of the "Petition System" of elections vs. huge money buy of this election. Please know that if you vote for me, Bob Carr, I will be very grateful and I will use my 35 years of Community Development experience to help "jump start" our economy. No time to waite.April 17, 2006 This is another great week to meet our neighbors. There is something new at every turn. What a blessing it has been to run for Congress. Our people are so gracious and kind."For the Community good" category for Business would be to have seperate category where "84" Lumber type companies can operate break-even stores in rural communities with no effect on the "Stock Equation" for if not, our communities are getting left behind. More soon.!(IDEA). ADDS RUNNING AGAINST BOB CARR! TOO LIBERAL TO WORK WITH! CONTRAIR: I am a community development specialist. I work WITH EVERYONE! Bring it on! I ask all Republicans, Democrats, and non-declaired who want a LIBERAL DOSE of ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT in your community to (how it works in the primary) PICK UP A DEMOCRAT ballot and and vote for Bob Carr who IS on the ballotIt's not Party, its sorely needed ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT! Lots of it, in a lot of places. Diversity, creativity, that is us. I AM LIBERALLY WORKING WITH EVERYONE WHEN WE DO A PROJECT. Vote for Bob Carr and I will be able to do what I do! Help Communities!!!! We can NO LONGER WAITE for help. The time IS NOW!!! Bob CarrApril 13, 2006 THREE GREAT GENTLEMEN!! Today, as I was mailing items in the Stuebenville Post Office, I heard three men really going at it about football. Great Pals for sure. OUR NEW BOOKMARK IS HERE! I gave them each one and then asked about the football discussion. WOW! I met John Anderson, and Players Danny Davis of the Green Bay Packers and Perry Jeter of the Chicago Bears (both played in the 50's). Now, back home to Stuebenville, they are still discussing which team is better. CAMPAIGNING is so rewarding. PETTITION INTEGRITY ON THE LINE! I, Bob Carr am a Democrat Candidate for Congress in OHIO'S 6th. CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT! I am ON THE ballot! I WORKED HARD TO HONOR THE PETTITION PROCESS!!! The process CAN WIN by voting for Bob Carr. The "HUGE MONEY BUYING" write-in effort underway by another must be TRUMPED by the "following the rules" process. Rules there for us all TO DEMONSTRATE OUR REAL DESIRE TO WIN THE OFFICE. If you are a Democrat, Republican, or Non-declared and want to vote for Bob Carr and the ballot system, you must pick up a DEMOCRAT BALLOT (the way it works in the primary) where my name will appear ON THE BALLOT. We can show that following the rules CAN BEAT their effort of BUYING AN ELECTION BY THROWING HUGE MONEY (not doing it right/failing to get the required 50, withdrawing signatures/adding signatures (huge no, no at election board) (YES, only fifty) signatures to get on the ballot campaign. HUGE MONEY, WORST OF ALL IT IS MONEY OTHER STATE AND LOCAL CANDIDATES ARE NOT GETTING, WORKERS AND OFFICE SPACE TAKEN FROM THEM. There is District wide Democrat wringing of hands. People tell me again and again that our (YOURS AND MINE) Congressional Race IS A WATERSHED ELECTION with the integrity of the ELECTION system ON THE LINE! I will try to be worthy of your confidence. Yours truly, Bob CarrBOB CARR UPDATES: APRIL 11- I received an email from the Director of a Chamber of Commerce. Yes, worried about the lastest job losses just as I am. We need to beat the street with our feet and form a team to "jump start" our economy! Doing it together. All your ideas, send to me and I will pass them on to the ever growing team! Want to be added to the team, just let me know. APRIL 10- ECONOMIC ATTENTION NEEDED!!! Sunday newspapers of the 6th. District headlined: Goodyear to close plant! 84 Lumber closing area stores! The bicycle tire plant in Poland is closing and with it a loss of 1500 jobs. 84 lumber is closing two sores closest to Columbiana County. I drove by 84 Lumber yesterday; and experienced a feeling of sadness. There must be a way to get companies to have a special "FOR COMMUNITY GOOD" category for stores that operate on a less scale than the average but do not lose any money. I know that stock swappers look at the bottom line; however, a special 2nd. category might be possible. I want to explore the thought further. While I am mulling over my idea; I am running to be the 6th. Congressional District BUSINESS/COMMUNITY MATCHMAKER! We must diversify, simplify, and be creative. I have Chamber of Commerce blood in me and I am the District's Salesman. There is no time to waiste for we MUST REPLACE! To this: the Herald Star in "Our opinion" for Sunday ran "ReUnion group a positive force". ReUnion is made of retirees. "And the action they're seeking is simply this: Move Congress off its backside and to get the nation's leaders to give at least full discussion and full action to the health care system in the United States". Yes, yes, and yes! I'm out and about talking, listening and dreaming with people. That is how ideas are born and solutions found!!! (Timely, as my next paragraph describes a friday meeting in a grocery store). APRIL 7, Friday- 520 miles yesterday. I love every minute of it. I do what I do. Here are some snapshots: ATHENS County is a County of White Churches. With the blossoms what a panarama in our District. Our District has Ohio's smallest church. The fun of discovery while campaigning. I Met folks sitting on a porch. They said "we don't do write ins, NEVER." "Can't get on the ballot, forget it!" ECONOMIC NEEDS! Yep! I met a lady in a grocery store who works at a sewing shop. Her husband lost his meaningful job five years ago. AND they lost their HEALTHCARE! Also, I said hi to three teenagers in a car. I asked them if they vote? No, but they will register now that they MET me in person!! "Good, one of you may take my place someday". The guys pointed to their friend, a girl. "Very well can be so register and start helping others!" NEWS RELEASE: 4/6/06The first DEMOCRAT CONTESTED ENDORSEMENT IS WON BY BOB CARR! RUNNING FOR OFFICE instead of holding a position by Appointment. I always wanted to be elected if I was to hold a position in the Federal Government. Winning in a contested setting is real affirmation. First CONTESTED ENDORSEMENT exercise I was asked to participate was by the 6TH.District "South County Democrats" (HQ is in Mahoning County) was Tuesday. Presentations made/ballots cast. BOB CARR RECEIVED TWO AND ONE HALF TIMES AS MANY VOTES AS the "write in". I received an overwhelming endorcement. Newspaper adds are to be taken out telling of my endorcement. Winning a 'CONTESTED' endorsement TRUMPS those done before the filing deadline. It speaks volumes to how these Democrats see this! I have met so many of you and in time we can all meet. What a great thing it is to have so many folk be so nice. Each time I meet one of you I am reminded of how important everyone is.April 5, 2006 Desmond T. Doss, MEDAL of HONOR winner and veteran Hero passed away this week. I first heard him speak my freshman year in High School. Last year, My wife and I sat with him, after his speech in a large auditorium, discussing his great friends, my foster family. I sat in awe. Veterans are represented by such great people like Desmond Doss. VETERANS have every right to be proud! We have every reason to be proud of VETRANS! Thank you for so much, Desmond Doss!TOURISM OPPORTUNITY- NEW Dollars jingling around our Congressional District! I went through the East Liverpool's Historic Car/Trolley Barn today. There is an effort by some in the Council to see a Museum. The Car Barn is on a Scenic route and is still being used by the City. The idea was to do an artifact display on the second floor. I was ASKED as (owner of Vintage Train Carrs) to give my opinion. My intial REPORT: Yes, the upstairs, being an open structure could be designed into a museum. Other areas of the building are currently being used so it is not like starting from scratch. However, the artifact portion upstairs needs to be a challenge on it's own time. In the meantime, I recomend that workers track cars and gandy dancer carts be put on display in the front of the building in a space 30 feet by 60 feet. Also, the first floor section available should be the display area for track cars, switch stands and so on. This could go before the upstairs is complete and then in concert with the up stairs Museum. SMALL WORLD! It so happens I started working on a track car/trolley scenic ride last year with the Wellsville fathers. They have a spurline within Wellsville that runs from the Seawall to the Sterling Pottery location. The controller of the track and property has been in the loop. Through this beginning some of East Liverpool business people wondered about them. A Trolley Operation in Wellsville and a Transportation Museum in the East End of East Liverpool could be a real successful tourist attraction. I did learn today that it might be possible to put a short line along the bluff of the River in East Liverpool. With an ANTIQUE BUS ride connector! Great! IMPORTANT! these scenic rides, no matter the length can be large dollar generators. It is my business to know how to set up and operate. By the way I have discovered a dozen trolleys in Ohio in the past two weeks. As to equipment, much can be brought on loan and staffed by Senior couples. The way to do the program IS IN PARTS! First, set the track car display in front of the Car Barn with lighting and spruced up front. Meantime start in process figureing out the Building rehab. The second part is to get a ride into operation. It will stand alone financially and can be run for profit or non-profit. With the museum or separate. The "Living Museum" cash flow could very well sustain the static display Museum. For those who still wonder; do it in parts AND understand that there are over 350 of these ride operations, many making the Museum portion possible. FINALLY, as I began to work on the (Let's call it for today) The "Wellsville, East Liverpool and Ohio Valley Railroad"; I saw that throughout the 12 Counties of this Congressional District there were so many opportunities waiting for promotion that I needed a bigger platform from which to be effective. This overwhelming realization is why I am running so fervently for the United States Congress. To win, I will need all the Democrat, Republican, and Non-declared voters who think we need this action; to pick up a DEMOCRAT ballot (this is the way it works in the primary) and vote for Bob Carr, Vote for me and I will use my experience to JUMP START this ECONOMY. Vote for me, Bob Carr and I will be very grateful. REALITY!Last night I attended a Candidates Night. My friend Chuck, who had traveled 2885 miles to help me, last night passed out the "Every Child needs someone to look out for them" flyer. At 8:30 this morning Chuck was broadsided by another car. He has been airlifted to Pittsburg Medical Center. I am waiting for the details and his condition. Last night, when I asked the other candidates to not run negative campaigns against each other but to RUN FOR CONGRESS, I meant it. I do not believe in it. And, what if something was said to trash someone and then something like this happens? What then? In my campaign; I have found all of the other candidates to have some real good attributes. So run for Congress and talk about our Districts' future! MARCH 31, 2006 CHUCK WILL BE AT PMC FOR SOME DAYS. HE IS BROKEN BUT WILL MEND. WHEW!CLOSE CALL APRIL 4, 2006 CHUCK HAD A COLLAPSED LUNG SO HE IS BACK IN THE HOSPITAL WHERE SURGERY WAS DONE. He is awake and will need more time to mend. April 06, 2006 Chuck is released today and will live with my High School classmates Glenda and Dan, during recovery. Glenda is a nurse and Dan went through Medical School. They are Heroes!!AT MANY OF YOUR REQUEST, WE HAVE INCLUDED THE 'ROUND ISLAND LIGHTHOUSE' PICTURE in the "more about Bob Carr" section.Monday, March 27, 2006 SUCCESS! Under my instructions, we successfully moved a historic 1926 Crew railroad car to the Depot of St. Johns, today! I provided the car which will join the 1898 (OHIO built) Barney & Smith sleeping car at the Depot, where, with a soon to arrive caboose, will create a living museum to the sleeper railroad car. This theme gives the Community of St. Johns something on which to "Hang their hat" as Mom Carr would say. Aside from campaigning and moving a rail car, I listened to two proposals for the Homer Laughlin Mansion today. One idea was steller. That is how it works. We begin a project based on merit and good folks step forward with solutions. The key IS TO BEGIN! Going to Congress will give us even more tools!!!(see Mansion "razing to saving" farther down this column). Our new "Mobile Office" is here! We will be out and about everywhere. Honk or stop and see us. Look for the banners and our excited smiles!!!CUPID CONGRESSMAN! Jobs, Jobs, Jobs! That is what I am hearing. Gosh, I need to be the District Business Match Maker. Campaigning with Passion because folks are right. We need jobs for all!!!I received a call today from a District member. After talking with them, I am more sure than ever that my willingness to be the District's business match maker; is giving a lot of people hope!!! What we were able to do, at the eleventh hour, with the Homer Laughlin Mansion, has given people a real life example. Action is the result of dreams worth dreaming! Spring is here AND hope springs eternal. Why? A good dream and a good plan can become successful. We just have to act. All of us can.WE ARE MOVING FORWARD NOW AND MY STYLE NO ONE CAN DUPLICATE. COMES FROM MANY YEARS OF "Street Smarts Politics 101". Experience Counts! Hands On Counts! Street Sense Wins!I have been out and about, my ear to the ground, and my feet on the street. One of my most rewarding recent visits was to the Farm Bureau forum in Belmont County. I was able to meet all of the people. They sure love farming. I passed out a copy of my "Camera Signature" tractor bookmark. Three pictures, one of a F-20 Farmall, one of a Minneapolis Molline and one of an Oliver 88. On this bookmark there was not a JD or an AC, but one fellow said "that is alright, I have a Massey Harris anyway". Oh yes, them too. I have worked on farms all of my youth. I told them "You can take Bob Carr off the farm, but you cannot take the farm out of Bob Carr". In serious discussion, it was the ECONOMY that was the chief concern. Small town Community Development, farm and land preservation, and how to do it were on everyones mind. Always on my mind as that is what I do in my professional life. FRONT PAGE of some newspapers on Saint Patrick's day!: My picture and this caption and quote: 'Debbie O'Neill of the Secretary of State's office (right) demonstrates the new vote scanner to congressional candidate Bob Carr at the Calcutta YMCA Thursday morning.' Text: One candidate seeking election has a lot of confidence in the new vote scanning system set to make its debut around the county in may. "It's important that candidates running for office have confidence in the ballots," said Bob Carr of the new voting machine. Carr is running on the Democratic ballot for Ohio's Sixth District Congressional seat. "I have a lot of confidence in this because of all the added precautions it insures." Bob Carr is on the ballot and another is not, because I am 'hands on'. I wanted to see the system, but also, the opportunity for me to lend my name and give voters confidence, is also what I should do. I talked later to a radio station and the DJ asked about the intimidation factor. He feels voters are feeling intimidated. I could say from HANDS ON experience that they need not be. 'Hands ON gives credibility. Yes, this week I went to Columbiana County and did a test trial of the new electronic/paper voting system. The 'Review' newspaper reporter and I tried the system. We learned the voter protection systems which have a lot of overlap. One such example; if the electricity fails the machines have a 14 hour backup battery. I told the 'Review' it is a "worry free" system in my view. Keep reading your newspaper for they are such an important vehicle to inform you of issues. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER! Emails, telephone calls, and visits on the streets are coming very fast. What a joy that folks care so much! In addition to "The Mansion"; I am meeting with lots of folk, organizations and media outlets. How I am doing what I do is not for the opposition to be taught. Bob Carr is known for "Hands On" forward endevours. And trust me "Hands On" has become the issue since someone could not get the 50 signatures on their petitions. Believe you me, voters everywhere remind me of that. Everywhere. I do not have to say a word. Hands on and Personal Attention! If I want to go to Congress. That is the message told to me again, and again.I JUST TOURED THE MANSION IN EAST LIVERPOOL WITH OUR HERO OWNER. FIREPLACES EVERYWHERE WITH BLACK CHERRY WOODWORK THROUGHOUT. JUST IN VERY FINE CONDITION. IT NEEDS TO BE AN INN. THAT IS THE DIRECTION I AM MOVING TOWARDS. MANY FINE INNKEEPERS WILL BE NOTIFIED. Very touching to me was that as the owner and I were touring, the Mayor and the Zoning Administrator for Wellsville showed up to encouraged me. What a jester.Mansion update: Sunday, March 12, 2006 Getting people to dream is what I do. And, Newspapers for today had Editorial and Letters to the Editor titled: "Many options for Homer Laughlin mansion", "EL doesn't need another parking lot", "Unfortunate to lose mansion", "Turn mansion to Museum" and so on. Clearly, our folks care and together we will find a great use for that beautiful work of history! NEWSPAPER HEADLINE- By Fred Niller. 'Former Homer Laughlin mansion to br razed'. NOT SO FAST!!! This is my area of knowhow!. Here is the lay of the land: The Mansion is kitty-corner from the Pottery Museum, The Carnegie Library, and Kent State. It is just down the Street From the Lou Holtz Football Hall of Fame, the huge Antique Mall, the River, and the many little restuarants in Downtown East Liverpool. A cornerstone of any economic development says I. It has 23 rooms and two ballrooms. I write of "Hands on" and "do dillegence" and Action bringing success. You bet! Here is the latest. I first called the Contractor who was the one vote on the committee against razing the building. Question, Can it be reborn? Of course! As we talked it turned out that our home, when being returned to stately promenence from a nursing home, was rewindowed by him. He says that the conditions were similar. Small world. I then called the owner and proposed a plan, with a time to work on the challenge and we agreed. Finally I called the Mayor of East Liverpool to make sure we were on the same page. Yes, updating to current code is a good thing. Sure, a Bed and Breakfast/minnie hotel would be appropriate. And then we talked on how important putting 10 or 15 rooms of people into downtown for 24 hours would be. And if there were family reunions the added day visitors, using the rooms and the ballrooms, that together would SPEND MONEY among the town businesses. The secret is to find a already thriving hospitality operator, look at the building as two sections, to be done in parts, and to understand that Our real estate prices leave room for the money to do the improvements. And the operator gets East Liverpool's attractions right out the front door. Ball room use, weddings, and maybe a use I have not thought of might do fine. When I asked why I am doing this, my answere is always the same. It is what I do. Special in this case "WE LIVE HERE" in the beautiful 6th. Congressional District; and Karen was born at the other end of the street from that old historic Mansion. The East Liverpool Review and the Morning Journal of Lisbon (March 3) did big feature articles today about the Mansion's new future. Thanks to the owner of the Mansion for being willing to let me do my thing. Karen and I went and looked at the "landmark" tonight. Amazing! And the stained glass. Brick is sound! Time to get the Bar signs down. Yep, people with money are calling. It is a happy day for Bob Carr. Lessons leared again. The media, our free press, makes such a difference. They are to be praised. I have received emails and calls of support. What a beautiful Mansion. A plan is coming together!Today, as Karen and I were traveling around the District to go to the Chamber of Commerce (Bob Carr was a Chamber of Comerce Director)'meet and greet' in Leetonia, I exclaimed that everywhere we turn there is a photograph! The lightbulb went on! Owning "Camera Signature" as I do; I am going to start taking pictures of our District's beautiful places and put up a ever changing PICTURE GALLERY on this web page. Also, during the campaign Karen and I will have a "Photography Art Show" in diffent places; with you, and the public invited. I am excited!Every District wheather a State House District, a State Senate District, or a Congressional District is made up of many people and families; all to be served by their Representatives. GUESS WHAT?; the State Rep. who wants to run for Congress and the State Senator who wants to run for Congress in OUR District both have offices in the State Capitol of Columbus. BUT! Neither of these "elected Officials" have put offices in their home Districts. How in the world are Senior Citizens going to get face to face personal help? Drive to Columbus? For many that is not an option. No District Offices is unexcusable. Period! No explanation will do. Both of these officials should put offices back home; but they have not! Says volumes! Please press the "Bob Carr" arrow and read about our "House Calls" Motor Home Mobile Office and also, other subjects addressed by me. Running for Federal Office is a serious undertaking. Serving the people of the 6th. Congressional District in everyway possible is a must. Full "Hands ON" approach is front and center. That is how I see things. This is how we will do things!. Please click the "Click here and learn more about Bob Carr" button at the top of this page, and learn more! - Bob Carr Bob Carr Elect for Congressman BobCarr.org 1(800) 987-8810
